D type blocks

We would like to announce that we now have made and machined an E-Type block from the pattern equipment we made in 2013.
The trial block, fully machined and pressure tested is fitted to Piers Trevelyan’s E Type which has now run for 1,500 – 2,000 miles and all is good.
In 2013 we made 10 castings, 6 of which were fitted to cars and are still running. The other 4 blocks were purchased by E Type owners who considered that they would like the security of knowing that if their current clock failed, they would still be able to keep the car running with the block they put on the shelf in 2014!
We are now in the position that we can supply up and ready new E Type blocks. These will be suitable for any E Type and D Type Vauxhall.
Iron Foundries are closing weekly but the foundry we will go to will remain able to cast new blocks for a few more years. What happens to our side-valve Vauxhalls after this?
We recommend that if an E Type owner – or D Type wish to keep their cars running after the failure of their original block on their car, they should consider ordering a new block from us, Marsh Brothers Engineering Services Ltd.
The cost is about the same as in 2014. Fully machined and pressure tested block: £12,500.00. We would like to make a batch of 5 or so blocks – all machined and pressure tested.

• 4x Late 23-60 30-98 CAV headlights model EV. Three lights with reflectors plus One additional good shell. All have dings and marks but no splits and range from good to fair. Restore a perfect pair and have good spares. $1100 for all four.
• Late 23-60 used roller camshaft. Looks ok $150
• Jaeger Speedo face and matching clock face suit ribbed bezel style. Speedo face has ‘brooklands’ gear change markings on it. Faces only, vgc. $160pr
• New 23-60 30-98 engine valve side cover plates recast pair. Last pair $200.
• Early 23-60 30-98 Silver faced CAV amp gauge. Working $250

• New bolts for mounting sidelights to mudguards. These have the correct dome head and the square underneath which fits into the sidelight base slot neatly. Includes bolt, Nickel plating, stainless washer and nut, Set of 4 - $60. Limited availability.
• Newly made spare wheel centre cover caps for 23-60 Rudge Whitworth 80s. As original, each unit consists of outer and inner discs, threaded rod, remade loop nut for the rear. I have some original RW badges extra in various condition if required. Following the closure and subsequent sad passing of Arthur Archer in 2017, most of the patterns & tooling which Arthur had made over the years has been acquired by James Gunn. James spent the first 10 years of his working life at Archers, and has inherited much of Mr A's knowledge and expertise. James is currently able to supply the following, :
