Register of surviving cars - Update June 2018
This section of the website will be password protected. Eventually, we will include the full register of approximately 180 surviving cars. However.......this is an expensive upgrade and there are Data Privacy issues in Europe around publishing such data.
Meanwhile, there are various files which the Register is keeping up to date to record the whereabouts of the survivors.
Please contact us ([email protected]) for further information about the Vauxhall A-D Register, published in 2014. This is provided free of charge to owners. A nominal charge is made for non owners.
There are also historical Registers which, although incomplete, will assist current owners' research. For a start, below are the Registers from 1975, 1976, 1979, 1987.

Many subsequent Registers simply carried over ownership data from one year to the the next, unless the new owner was proactive enough to advise otherwise. Therefore the 2006 Register (below), contains some outdated information dating back to the '80s and '90s, especially outside Australia.

The numbers game
Are you searching for the numbers which will identify your car, perhaps for dating purposes? Unfortunately Vauxhall did not stamp any chassis numbers on the car frames, but simply attached a chassis plate to the firewall (bulkhead). Over the years therefore, it has become difficult to identify some cars, especially when extensive restoration has been undertaken.
The photos below should assist (23-60 shown. Other models vary). (thanks to Dave Stuart for several of theses pictures)

Front Axle serial numbers: Update April 2020
We have concluded that the format of the 23-60 front axle serial numbers changed when the braked front axle was introduced in 1924.
Earlier 2 wheel brake cars, both D and OD, used the format AF1234 for the front axle stamping. Later 4 wheel brake cars had the format O.D.123.
So looking at some examples:
OD854 has f axle number O.D.33
OD929 has f axle number O.D.79
OD980 has f axle number O.D.119
OD1020 had f axle number OD167 (this axle is now on OD62)
OD1076 has f axle number O.D.226
OD1096 has f axle number O.D.242
And so on. As we know, components were not used in strict sequence in those days, so there’s no direct correlation between chassis number and axle number.

Where are they now?
Can anyone help us to trace the following 'missing' cars?
